According to the data as of September 1, 2025, a total of 12.3 billion cubic meters of gas and 1.8 million tons of condensate have been produced as part of the first phase of the development of the "Umid" field, APA-Economics reports.

Drilling of the underwater appraisal well on the southern flank of the "Umid" field via the "Neptun" rig is planned for October this year. Drilling of the underwater appraisal well with the self-elevating floating drilling rig will be the first in SOCAR's history. At the same time, this well is considered the deepest well drilled in the "Umid" field to date. The designed depth of the well is 7,067 meters. The drilling operations and delivery for formation testing are expected to take approximately 10 months.

It was noted that a ceremony was held for the completion of the modification works of the “Neptun” self-elevating drilling rig, intended for drilling the first appraisal well on the southern flank of the “Umid” field, and for the rig’s launch into the sea.

The event was attended by the heads of SOCAR, “Nobel Upstream,” the Azerbaijan branch of the “Umid Babek Operating Company” (UBOC), as well as officials from “Caspian Oilfield Services” (COS) and officials of other partner service companies.
