30 years have passed since the "Contract of the Century" signed between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the world's leading oil companies under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, APA-Economics reports.
11 most famous oil companies from 7 countries participated in the agreement "On the joint development of the Azeri, Chirag and the deep-lying part of the Gunashli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea and the distribution of oil production". The "Contract of the Century" is one of the largest agreements concluded in the world both in terms of the amount of hydrocarbon reserves and the volume of investments.
On August 16, 2001, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev had signed a decree under which September 20 is marked as the Day of Oilmen in Azerbaijan.
