Shamil Alibeyli – APA. “The presidential elections in Azerbaijan were held in the competitive atmosphere,” said head of GUAM observation mission and organization’s Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili, APA reports. He noted that the mission included 4 persons from Georgian and Ukrainian parliaments.
Chechelashvili said that the observers have monitored 35 polling stations and according to the observations, elections have been held in accordance with international commitments and democratic election standards: “GUAM has not found irregularities that could affect the results of the elections. The elections can be considered free and fair. I’m sure that the votes will be counted on schedule within Azerbaijan’s laws.”
