Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) commented on the claims of the candidate of the National Council Jamil Hasanli, who does not consider legitimate the results of the elections. Deputy chairman, executive secretary of YAP Ali Ahmadov said at the press conference that if Jamil Hasanli had been together with the people, held a number of meetings, he would have won: “Jamil Hasanli and his observers can speak anything they want, but the truth is clear. The people are close to Ilham Aliyev. Of course, the Central Election Commission will investigate all the related claims. It is their right to protest, places have been allotted for them. They can express their protests there. But any illegal actions will be prevented. The reality is that the Azerbaijani people have proved once more that they support Ilham Aliyev."
Ali Ahmadov said Jamil Hasanli has lost not only because his campaign was weak, but also because he could not win the confidence of the people.
