Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. Sharon Nazarian, public figure, the Iranian Jewish president of the Y&S Nazarian Family Foundation operating in the U.S. state of California has visited Azerbaijan.
APA reports that Sharon Nazarian met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Elshad Isgandarov, other officials, representatives of the media and the Jewish community in Azerbaijan.
Nazarian was interested in all aspects of the life of our country and made discussions during her familiarization visit to Azerbaijan. The visit was organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States.
Nazarian family had to leave the country after the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979. The main activity of the Foundation established in 2000, is to finance projects and analysis on education, culture and social policy.
