Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloghlu – APA. Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov spoke about the current situation of the Azerbaijani migrants in Russia.
The Committee Chairman exclusively told APA that the problems of Azerbaijani migrants in Russia cause serious concern and the State Committee is taking necessary measures to solve these problems.
Ibrahimov said that the State Committee is regularly keeping in touch with the Diaspora organizations: “One of our priorities is to raise legal awareness of the Azerbaijanis living in Russia and achieve the strengthening of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations in Russia. We have certain plans in this regard. Of course, all ideas, proposals for the solution of problems need to be studied and discussed thoroughly and the model that meets both Russia’s interests and the rights and freedoms of migrants in this country should be found in this regard. Every country determines its laws and it is a sovereign right of every country to ensure the implementation of these rules. But it is unacceptable if these laws are implemented in parallel with the violation of human rights and freedoms of migrants. Unfortunately, we often observe such cases in this situation. In this case, we agree with the views of Polad Bulbuloglu, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia, at the meeting with chief of the Federal Migration Service of Russia Konstantin Romodanovsky.”
The Committee Chairman considers that the violations of the Azerbaijani migrants’ rights in Russia must be seriously investigated: “Attempts made to form a negative public opinion about Azerbaijanis should be prevented. Azerbaijanis don’t deserve such a attitude, because we can name hundreds of Azerbaijanis that have played an important role in Russia’s history and its economic, cultural and political life. We can jointly discuss all issues and solve problems. We have all conditions for it.”
