APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that the event was organized at “President” hotel of the Russian Federation Presidential Administration General Affairs Department by the Majlis of Mahammed Amin Rasulzade, All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress and Literary and Cultural Society "Shahriyar".
The order issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the 130th anniversary of Mahammed Amin Rasulzade was read in the opening of the event.
Following this, the national flag of Azerbaijan was solemnly brought to the hall.
A short documentary film dedicated to the life and activity of Rasulzade was demonstrated.
Assistant professor of Baku State University, doctor of historical sciences, researcher of Rasulzade’s life and heritage, Nasiman Yagublu delivered a long speech. He spoke about the statesman, who fought for the independence of Azerbaijan: “The celebration of the 130th anniversary of Mahammed Amin Rasulzade in Russia is of great importance and has historical roots. Rasulzade lived in Moscow for some time. He delivered a broad speech in the first Congress of Russian Muslims in Moscow in May, 1917 and offered to grant autonomy to the nations living in Russia.”
Speaking about Rasulzade's fight for the independence of Azerbaijan, he touched upon his political, social and educational activities in Turkey, Iran and Eastern Europe.
Yagublu also talked about the publication of “M. A. Rasulzade’s Encyclopedia”. According to him, the encyclopaedia will be published in Turkish and Russian.
Awards were also presented at the event.
Executive Director of All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress Ilgar Hajiyev, Artistic Director of the “Dervish” theater Mardan Feyzullayev, Chairman of Literary and Cultural Society "Shahryar" Vasif Mammadov were awarded with the medals of the Majlis of Mahammed Amin Rasulzade.
Rasulzade’s audio recording was heard, the national anthem of Azerbaijan sounded at the end of the event.
