Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose by 139.46 points, or 0.56%, to 24,890.24 points, while China's CSI 300 index increased by 18.90 points, or 0.42%, to 4,526.30 points. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index remained virtually unchanged at 8,731.20 points.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rose by 1.38% to 65,018.95 points in the latest trading session, while the TOPIX declined by 0.07% to 4,091.14 points.
Positive momentum across the region was mainly supported by increased demand for technology and chipmaker stocks, as well as falling oil prices.
