A magnitude 4.1 earthquake has struck the Kuril Islands in Russia's Far East, according to local seismologists.
The tremor was recorded at 07:19 local time, with its epicentre about 76km (47 miles) south-east of Severo-Kurilsk, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station said.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 41km.
Seismologists said weak tremors may have been felt in Severo-Kurilsk.
There were no reports of casualties or damage.
