US President Donald Trump said the United States has effectively already won the war against Iran, APA reports.
Speaking to journalists, Trump said the only remaining question now is when the military operations will end.
Emphasizing that the US is in a “very good position,” the American president said victory over Iran has already been achieved, but operations will continue in order to finish the mission.
“The main thing is that we must win it, win it quickly, but we must win,” Trump said.
Trump also stated that the issue had effectively been resolved in the first hours of the military operation.
“We have won. It was already over in the first hour,” he noted.
The US president also claimed that the United States had destroyed 58 vessels belonging to the Iranian navy.
“But we don’t want to leave there quickly, right? We want to finish the job. We don’t want to come back there every two years,” Trump added.
