Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Epiphane Zoro Bi Ballo, Chairman of the High Authority for Good Governance of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
The meeting took place on October 28 on the sidelines of the third high-level meeting of the heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Baku.
During the meeting, the Prosecutor General provided information about the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, the activities of the prosecution authorities, measures taken to combat corruption, as well as the activities of ASAN Service centers, highlighting the contribution of this governance model to ensuring transparency in state-citizen relations and reducing corruption risks.
The Prosecutor General also spoke about the areas of activity of the country's prosecution authorities, the reforms being implemented, including efforts to combat corruption-related offenses, and emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, introducing modern governance mechanisms, and studying international experience in this field.
Epiphane Zoro Bi Ballo expressed gratitude for the hospitality and the high-level organization of the event, emphasizing the developing relations between Azerbaijan and Côte d'Ivoire. He noted the importance of economic cooperation between the two countries, including ties in the oil industry, and drew attention to the interconnection between sustainable economic development, effective governance, and the fight against corruption. In this regard, he expressed interest in studying Azerbaijan's experience in combating corruption.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized that there are broad opportunities to expand legal cooperation between their institutions, exchange experience in combating corruption, and strengthen institutional ties. They also noted the importance of continuing mutual contacts in the future.
