A session on "Intercultural Dialogue, Education and Digital Transformation" was held as part of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, APA reports.

The session was organized in partnership with UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and Education, and ADA University.

During his speech, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov stated that it is possible to gain admission to a university, pursue bachelor's and master's degrees, and obtain a diploma by memorizing certain tests. However, the main issue is the extent to which people acquire the skills to adapt to changing circumstances, communicate, and think critically and creatively.

According to him, the rapid development of technologies presents new challenges for the education system.

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla stated in his speech that the development of young people receiving education based on multicultural values, world culture, and the spiritual heritage of different peoples is of great importance for promoting mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue in society.

Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund (EDF) Nijat Mammadli proposed establishing a special evaluation mechanism to determine whether responses provided by artificial intelligence align with national and cultural values. He stated that asking artificial intelligence models the same questions in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English and conducting a comparative analysis of their responses could help reveal the models' attitudes toward different cultures.

Advisor to the Minister of Culture Jasarat Valehov stated that work has been carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years to modernize the arts education system under the Ministry of Culture. He emphasized the importance of arts education in developing young people's creative abilities, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening intercultural dialogue.

The session also discussed the importance of digital citizenship skills in promoting inclusive dialogue, equality, mutual recognition, and pluralism.

The session continued with panel discussions, during which participants exchanged views on issues related to education, intercultural dialogue, and digital transformation.
