US President Donald Trump while answering journalists’ questions at the White House, has said he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin only when the sides are ready to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine, APA reports.
Trump said he wants the United States to maintain good relations with Russia, Ukraine and other countries. According to him, Russia is a country with vast territory and highly valuable land, and good relations with Moscow could also be beneficial for business.
“We could have held the meeting immediately. But I want to hold this meeting when the war is nearing its end, and I think that is what will happen,” Trump said.
The US President also reiterated that there is deep hostility between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
