"We must take necessary measures to protect ourselves against any challenges that may arise," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the opening of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, APA reports.
"I would also like to mention our economic indicators. Our foreign debt is very low, and this is probably one of the lowest figures in the world. Our role in the global energy market as a reliable energy supplier, as well as our position in connectivity and transportation, particularly at a time when these issues have become one of the main topics on the international agenda, are of great importance. Here, too, if you look at the map, especially taking into account modern infrastructure and investments, you will see that it is difficult to bypass Azerbaijan. Because to play an important role in connectivity and transportation, you must have good relations with your neighbors, as well as with your neighbors' neighbors. This is exactly the situation we have established. Thus, our economic potential, active foreign policy, inclusive society, traditions of multiculturalism, and commitment to intercultural dialogue together create synergy for us and give us grounds for optimism. Nevertheless, we live in an unpredictable world. As I have already mentioned, conflicts begin but are not brought to an end. Therefore, we must always remain vigilant against potential risks and take the necessary measures to protect ourselves against any challenges that may arise," the head of state noted.
