In the first nine months of 2026, the non-oil and gas sector accounted for approximately 70% of Azerbaijan's economy, Adviser to the Minister of Economy Huseyn Huseynov said during a panel session titled "Business Dialogue" held as part of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, APA reports.
He stated that one of the latest examples of Azerbaijan's commitment to promoting international investment partnerships was the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held in Baku last month. During the forum, 23 corporate and investment documents with a total value of USD 10.8 million were signed.
According to Huseynov, Azerbaijan chairs the Working Group on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation for 2026–2028. At the same time, support is provided for entrepreneurs to establish direct contacts and develop mutual partnerships through the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Turkic Business Council.
He noted that Azerbaijan has identified the development of cross-border trade, digitalization, green transition, and integration into international supply chains as priority areas.
Huseynov added that targeted measures are being implemented at the national level to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan.
