Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said it carried out strikes against US military bases in Jordan, claiming that fighter jet deployment sites and maintenance infrastructure were destroyed, Tasnim news agency reports.
According to the IRGC statement, the attack was launched in response to a US strike on Iran’s Larak Island.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Armed Forces said the country’s air defence systems intercepted eight missiles that entered Jordanian airspace. The military did not specify the type of missiles involved.
Earlier, reports emerged of several explosions in Jordan.
The claims regarding damage to US military facilities have not been independently verified.
