At least five people were killed, several more were injured, and hospitalized after a Boeing 767 cargo plane, which was departing for an Amazon Prime Air flight, skidded off the runway at Miami International Airport in Florida, Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero Stutz said, APA reports.
"We can currently confirm that at least five people have died, and several more have been taken to local hospitals," she said at a press conference regarding the incident.
According to her, the incident occurred at 1:58 PM local time. The sheriff noted that there is currently no threat to public safety as a result of the incident.
