Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre have held telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to the Finnish Presidential Administration, the telephone conversations were initiated by the European leaders.
Stubb described the conversation as "frank and meaningful," while Støre said that the Europeans had emphasized the importance of de-escalating the conflict in Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov neither confirmed nor denied Putin's possible conversations with the leaders of Norway and Finland.
