Egyptian pyramids closed to tourists

Baku – APA. The plunders destroyed two mummies in Egyptian museum during the riots in Cairo, said Egyptian archeologist Zahi Hawass, APA reports quoting “Reuters”.

According to him, the incident took place before the army and the demonstrators took control the museum. The plunders also stole money from the museum’s cash.

Note that, Egyptian museum is situated around near Tahrir square, opposite the ruling party’s burnt headquarter. The mummies of 27 pharaohs and their families are kept there.

Owing to the riots, the army also prohibited the tourists to enter the Egyptian pyramids.
