Baku-APA. Kenyan police forces have stormed an HIV research clinic run by the US military following reports that a child died there donating blood for research purposes, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The security forces forced their way into the heavily guarded facility in Kericho district in the Rift Valley Province on Wednesday and searched the blood donation tents, Press TV correspondent in Nairobi reported on Thursday.

Police later dispersed a crowd of onlookers who had gathered around the facility and told journalists that the death allegations were groundless.

The Walter Reed Project, Kericho HIV Program is led by US Department of Defense and Kenyan medical professionals. It does research at five other military bases in Kenya.

The mission of the program is to develop and test improved means for predicting, detecting, preventing and treating infectious disease in East Africa.
