Azerbaijan continues construction of 45 hotels

Baku. Ulker Rashidgizi â€“ APA. On September 26, a ministerial conference on â€œCaucasus and Central Asia â€“ sustainable development agitation in the condition of global economic challengesâ€ was held in Vienna. Press Secretary of Ministry of Culture and Tourism Intigam Humbatov says the Minister Abulfaz Garayev spoke about reforms in tourism sphere, implemented projects in the country. He noted, Azerbaijan signed cooperation agreements with near 30 countries.
According to him, one of main successes is construction of Shahdag winter and summer tourist complex, meeting international standards in the height of 1,400-2,500 meters from sea level, Gusar. After completion of construction, the complex will receive 10,000 tourists per day, launch near 5,000 jobs.

Previous year, number of foreigners in Azerbaijan made 2,239,000 for the first time, up 14% from year earlier. 508 hotels operate in the country. Number of persons there rose 16.3% and 50% are foreigners. Azerbaijan has produced 30 hotels last year. At present, 45 hotels are constructed in the country. 178 tourism companies operate.
