The Russian military has attacked a critical substation ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine's Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with three drones, Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said, APA reports.
He stated that such attacks pose a threat to nuclear safety not only in Ukraine but throughout Europe.
According to the minister, Russia used 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles and 59 cruise missiles during a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Energy facilities were the main targets of the attacks.
Shmyhal said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had been informed about the incident and called on international partners to respond to Russia's actions.
