Azerbaijan opens summer tourism season

State and government officials, ambassadors accredited in Azerbaijan, representatives of hotel and tourism companies attended the ceremony.

Delivering speech at the event Minister of Culture and Tourism Ebulfaz Garayev noted that, recently tourism became one of the profitable spheres of economy in the world and factor that can affect on solution of global problems. â€˜The work is underway on establishment and development of tourism infrastructure. Nearly 300 students, as well as first master have graduated Azerbaijan Tourism Institute this year. Currently, the institute gives knowledge to 1,400 bachelors, 47 masters, 17 doctorates on different specialties.

Garayev noted that from January of 2012, the ministry took part in 16 international tourism exhibitions (Vienna, Stuttgart, Madrid, Los-Angeles, Istanbul, Milan, Vilnius, Berlin, Moscow 2 times, Tbilisi, Baku, Warsaw, Dubai, Seoul, Hong Kong). The minister expressed that by the year-end it was considered to attend exhibitions in Tokyo, Paris, Kiev, London and Cairo: â€˜At the same time, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan has renewed agreement with the CNN, Euronews and Travel Channel in connection with demonstration of 45-60 second advertising charts reflecting tourism potential of Azerbaijan. Moreover, an agreement has been signed between the Eurosport and the ministry on propaganda of our country. By the by, according to the agreement signed between the ministry and Belgian Unicap Television company, the company shot 13-minute film about tourism potential of Azerbaijan. The film is considered to be shown on TV5 MONDE channel of France from July. Ad pages about Azerbaijanâ€™s tourism potential have been posted on the official catalogue of BMI Voyager, Business Year, ABTA magazines and MITT exhibitionâ€™.

Besides, the event hosted the presentation of new website created by Dream Art company in www.azerbaijan.travel domain, which was purchased by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In addition, within the framework of â€˜Discover Azerbaijanâ€™ project, British TIME OUT publishing house has prepared guide-book about Azerbaijan. Experts of this publishing house visited Azerbaijan and stayed here 1 year for preparation of the book. On the basis of the ministryâ€™s order, booklet â€˜Travel without problemsâ€™ has been published in Azerbaijani and Russian languages.
