Azerbaijan-based hotels get 44% rise in profit

State Statistical Committee says 76.5% of income came from sale of rooms, 15.8% - from sale of foodstuffs including drinks, others â€“ from other services: â€œExpenditures rose 0.9% to AZN 88.7 mln. Most of expenditures went to salaries, goods for drinks and meals and amortization of main funds and the shares of these expenditures in total expenditures made 20.5%, 16.3% and 13%â€.

Consequently, Azerbaijan-based hotelsâ€™ profit made AZN 26 mln, up 44.4% from 2010.

Note that, 58 hotels operate in the country and 6.7% of them belong to government, 93.3% - to non-government.

Number of persons placed in the hotels rose 16.3% to 510,200 and 50.6% of them are foreigners. Azerbaijani citizens rose 11.5%, foreigners â€“ 21.5%.
