Syria incidents reduced tourist flow to Turkey

Baku - APA-Economics. The tense political situation in Syria adversely affected the tourist season in 2012, said Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Ertogrul Guney, APA reports.

â€œThe results of the" Arab spring "for Turkey - both positive and negative. Thus, last year, instead of Tunisia and Egypt, the tourists preferred to spend their holidays in Turkey. But this year, Turkey has lost a lot of tourists because of the difficult political situation in Syriaâ€, said the Minister.

Note that, during the first two months of 2012, Turkey received 1.98 million tourists, up 3.7% less than last year.
