Based on the latest results of the population census, the number of Azerbaijani people as of October 1, 2024, was 10,214,441 people, increasing 33671 people or 0,3%, the State Statistics Committee told APA.
54,5% of the population is urban, 45,5% is rural, 49,8% is men and 50,2% is women.
As of early October this year, the population distribution across Azerbaijan's regions was as follows: 4.6% in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 23.0% in Baku, 9.2% in Lankaran-Astara, 8.6% in Absheron-Khizi, 7.3% in Garabagh, 7.1% in Central Aran, 6.7% in Gazakh-Tovuz, 6.1% in Shaki-Zagatala, 5.9% in Ganja-Dashkasan, 5.4% in Guba-Khachmaz, 5.2% in Mil-Mughan, 4.9% in Shirvan-Salyan, 3.1% in Daghlig Shirvan, and 2.9% in Eastern Zangazur economic region.
