Azerbaijan has sent another group of former internally displaced persons to the liberated territories as part of the Great Return program in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, APA reports.
At this stage, nine families comprising 60 people have departed for Shukurbayli village in the Jabrayil district, while 17 families comprising 78 people have been sent to the city of Khojaly and 16 families comprising 55 people to the city of Khojavand.
The families departed from Baku’s Garadagh district on Wednesday morning.
The returning residents had previously been temporarily accommodated in dormitories, sanatoriums, former pioneer camps, unfinished buildings and administrative facilities in various parts of Azerbaijan.
The residents expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the state support provided to them.
They also thanked the Azerbaijani Army, as well as the country’s soldiers and officers, for the liberation of the territories and paid tribute to the servicemen who lost their lives.
