Archeological excavations start in ancient dwelling place of Nakhchivan

Baku. Laura Jabrayilli – APA. Archeological excavations have started in the ancient dwelling place in Shahtakhtli village of Kangarli region, Nakhchivan. Head of the scientific expedition Gahraman Agayev told APA that the dwelling place dated back to the late 3rd millennium BC – early 1st millennium.
“The research started in the place in 1978 and finished in 1989. Broad research work will be done in the historical dwelling place beginning from this year,†he said.
Scientific expedition of Archeology and Ethnography Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences plans to do initial research in the area for a month.
