Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. “Narimanov district believers” Religious Community filed an appeal against the decision of Baku Appeals Court, lawyer of the community Javanshir Suleymanov told APA. The appeal against the decision of Baku Appeals Court was filed to the Supreme Court yesterday. Suleymanov said they insisted on reopening of Abu Bakr mosque.
“The decision to close Abu Bakr mosque is unfair. The investigation of the criminal case launched on the terror attack on the mosque has finished. There is no ground to keep the mosque closed,” he said.

“Narimanov district believers” Religious Community had sued Narimanov district police office demanding to reopen Abu Bakr mosque. At first the court passed a decision to reopen the mosque, but later the court reconsidered the case and rejected the appeal on December 23, 2008. The decision was attributed to the unfinished investigation of the terror attack on the mosque. Baku Appeals Court rejected the appeal filed by “Narimanov district believers” Religious Community against the decision of Narimanov district court.
