Illegal religious sects extend activities in Barda

Barda. Teymour Zahidoglu–APA. Members of the illegal religious sects in the regions are increased. Jehovah’s Witnesses and vahhabits are extending their activities in Barda, APA Karabakh bureau reports. Nearly 30 local citizens joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The vahhabits have more members. One of the mosques, where vahhabits gathered, was closed. There were several lawsuits between the Jehovah’s Witnesses and local police over the confiscation of illegal religious literature. The courts made decisions in favor of the police office every time. Imam of the Barda Friday Mosque Ramazan Huseynov told APA Karabakh bureau that local believers are providing regular educational work among the people to prevent the extension of religious sects. APA Karabakh bureau reports that first signs of vahhabism appeared in Arab-1, Arab-2 refugee camps in Barda. The refugee camps were sponsored by Arabs in that time.
