Over 500 drivers held accountable for not using seat belts

The officers of Baku Traffic Police Department (BTPD) conduct raids in the capital to control use of seat belts, BTPD official Vagif Asadov told the APA. He said that over 500 drivers were held accountable for not using sea belts.
Asadov noted that in accordance with the 36th item of law on traffic rules to use seat belts is obligatory. He said that the analyses of traffic incidents prove that not-using seat belts by drivers and passengers increase seriousness of the accidents. The violators of these rules are fined.
The chief of the department said that most of the accidents occur in Baku and that is why it is important to use seat belts.
BTPD has increased its efforts in order to increase use of seat belts and will take measures against the ones who violate traffic rules. /APA/
