In connection with the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, traffic will be restricted on the streets within the Baku City Circuit (BCC) starting from September 15, BCC told APA.
It was noted that in order to carry out logistical operations related to the race, which will take place from September 19 to 21, traffic will be restricted from 01:00 AM on September 12 on the section of Pushkin Street between the intersections with Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street and Neftchilar Avenue. The restriction will remain in place until the end of the event.
According to the Traffic Management Plan, the streets that the Baku City Circuit passes through and the areas covered by the track will be closed to traffic from 01:00 AM on September 15 until 08:00 AM on September 23. Entry and exit in the restricted zones will only be possible with a "Residential Access Permit."
Note that based on the experience of the last two years, some main roads will be opened for public use during the race period for the convenience of city residents and drivers.
Thus, on September 15, 16, and 17, the entry and exit sections of the race track listed below will be open to traffic without stopping or parking from 07:00 AM to 09:00 AM and from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM.
Entry points:
- From Salyan Highway towards Neftchilar Avenue and Azneft Square.
- From M. Lermontov Street towards 50th Anniversary of the UN Street and Istiglaliyyat Street.
- From S. Vurgun Street towards Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street and Bulbul Avenue.
- From Bulbul Avenue towards Khagani Street and Neftchilar Avenue.
- From the intersection of Nizami and Pushkin Streets towards Khagani Street.
Exit points:
- From Neftchilar Avenue towards Baku Sea Port and Crescent Mall.
- From Istiglaliyyat Street towards Azerbaijan Avenue.
- From Neftchilar Avenue towards Azneft Square and Deniz Mall.
BCC informs drivers that the mentioned roads will be used solely as transit corridors. Except in cases of emergency, parking of vehicles, passenger pick-up and drop-off are prohibited while the transit corridors are open. Furthermore, the movement of heavy-duty trucks and public transportation on these roads is not allowed.
