Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane won the 2026 men's Ballon d'Or, becoming the first Englishman to claim the award since Michael Owen in 2001, APA reports.
Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for club and country, helping Bayern win two domestic trophies and reach the Champions League semi-finals. He also netted six times at the World Cup, where England finished third. During his acceptance speech, Kane paid tribute to his former club Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent nearly two decades before joining Bayern in 2023.
"I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham. All the guidance, all the coaches you have allowed me to live my dream," Kane said. "To all the fans, Bayern, England fans, Spurs fans and all my fans around the world. I love you in this room tonight. The support you give me - I appreciate it all," he added.
