As leaders, we must be bold in creating better conditions, President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA reports.
“Today, fully understanding the importance of urban development, especially the development of capital cities, we must be both bold and cautious. I sometimes compare this to the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix held in Baku. By the way, this race is one of the few Formula 1 races held on a city circuit. The cars reach speeds of more than 300 kilometers per hour, and then the drivers brake and enter a narrow seven-meter-wide street located just one meter away from the ancient city wall. Therefore, the drivers must be both bold and cautious. As leaders, decision-makers and those shaping the development agenda, we too must be bold in development and in creating better conditions,” the head of state noted.
