Russian troops carried out two massive and seven group strikes on Ukraine over the past week, the Russian Ministry of Defense said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The ministry said that military plants, metallurgical plants, energy facilities, logistics and telecommunications centers, and transport facilities in Ukraine were targeted in the strikes. A number of port infrastructure facilities were put out of operation. Eighteen vessels were hit.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that all attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break out of encirclement in the Kharkiv region and the Dobropillia area of the Donetsk region had failed. It noted that Russian troops are tightening the encirclement in both areas.
The ministry also said that the Russian Armed Forces had taken control of 14 settlements in Ukraine over the past week.
“Over the past week, air defense systems shot down 34 aerial bombs, 12 HIMARS projectiles, eight Flamingo missiles and 6,011 UAVs belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 8,500 servicemen over the course of the week,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
