The London Stock Exchange could serve as a gateway for Azerbaijani companies to access the international investment community, Ayuna Nechaeva, Head of Europe, Primary Markets at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), said during a panel discussion held as part of the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
Ayuna Nechaeva noted that international investors have a high level of interest in the countries of the region. According to her, Central Asian countries have economic growth, human capital, an educated population and significant amounts of capital.
Explaining the opportunities offered by access to international capital markets with a specific example, Ayuna Nechaeva referred to one of the major IPOs conducted on the London Stock Exchange this year. According to her, approximately $700 million was raised through the offering. Although the initial plan was to raise around $500 million, strong investor demand made it possible to increase the size of the transaction.
Ayuna Nechaeva emphasized that although the economic structures of Azerbaijan and other countries in the region differ, there is significant potential for international investor interest in the region.
“The London Stock Exchange could become a gateway for Azerbaijani companies to access the international investment community,” Ayuna Nechaeva said.
