Economic zones are expanding investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control Elnur Baghirov said during his speech at the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku, APA reports.
He said that industrial parks, industrial districts and the Alat Free Economic Zone provide production and logistics opportunities for investors.
“The purpose of these zones is not merely to allocate land plots, but to create a comprehensive investment ecosystem. These opportunities help reduce investors' initial costs, facilitate the expansion of production and exports, and create industrial clusters and skilled jobs,” Baghirov said.
He noted that industrial infrastructure being established in Karabakh and other regions is also expanding investment and production opportunities.
“In 2025, Azerbaijan's GDP approached $130 billion. Industry accounted for 33% of total output, while transport and warehousing accounted for 7.1%,” the Agency chairman said.
Baghirov added that the total value of digital public procurement in Azerbaijan amounted to nearly $5 billion in 2025, representing an increase of more than 10% compared with the previous figure.
According to him, public procurement legislation allows locally produced goods, works and services to receive a preference of up to 20% during evaluation.
