Around 70% of Pakistan's North-South motorway has already been constructed, and the remaining section is expected to be completed within the next three years, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Communications Aleem Khan said during the panel discussion titled “Shaping the Future of Global Growth, Investment and Connectivity” held as part of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA reports.
He said the completion of the project would strengthen Pakistan's road connectivity between the Arabian Sea and China.
“This route could provide one of the shortest connections between landlocked areas and the Gulf countries. The development of transport and logistics connectivity could create new opportunities for Pakistan's economy. In particular, there is potential to expand trade between Western China and the Gulf countries, as well as landlocked states,” he said.
