“Over the past 14 months, we have truly experienced a remarkable period in relations between the United States and Azerbaijan, and I highly appreciate this,” US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon said during the panel discussion titled “Middle Corridor: Unlocking Trade, Industry and Connectivity Potential” at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA reports.
“Starting from the visit of the US Vice President in August 2025, the first economic dialogue we held and all the subsequent mutual contacts clearly demonstrate that the United States now prioritizes the South Caucasus region. For those following the news, a major event dedicated to TRIPP was held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The importance of the South Caucasus was once again emphasized at this event. President Trump also noted in his speech that personally witnessing the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia in August last year was one of the achievements he was proud of,” Amy Carlon said.
She noted that the South Caucasus is a new priority for the US government.
“This is because we see that the South Caucasus region has great potential in the Trans-Caspian trade corridor. Frankly, there are also significant opportunities here for US businesses and potential for shared prosperity. By taking advantage of these opportunities, we can bring peace and new prospects to the region,” she said.
