US companies are showing growing interest in Central Asia and the South Caucasus, Executive Director of the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce Natig Bakhishov said during the panel discussion titled “Middle Corridor: Unlocking Trade, Industry and Connectivity Potential” held as part of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA reports.
He said that trade missions, regular conferences and direct meetings with US companies provide a more comprehensive understanding of how American businesses view the region.
According to him, although geopolitical changes occasionally affect the areas in which businesses operate, US companies remain interested in the region.
“The growing interest of American businesses in this region is also reflected in the US government's approach to the region. The US government's renewed active engagement with the South Caucasus and Central Asia following the historic August summit has encouraged American companies,” the Chamber's Executive Director said.
He noted that the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce receives numerous business inquiries related to the region every week.
