Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met on September 25 with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan at his invitation, the Press Service of the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
During the meeting, it was noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, based on friendship and mutual respect, are developing successfully, and it was emphasized that the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2024 marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations.
It was noted that the political will and joint efforts of the heads of state, Ilham Aliyev and Emomali Rahmon, have played a decisive role in bringing Azerbaijan-Tajikistan relations to their current high level.
The mutual support provided by the two countries to each other within regional and international organizations was highly appreciated.
The growing role of the Middle Corridor as one of the key transport routes between Asia and Europe, as well as the additional opportunities created by the Zangezur Corridor within the region's new transport architecture, were highlighted.
It was noted that there are good prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy.
The sides also exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation in the provision of public services.
Satisfaction was expressed with the development of cultural, humanitarian and educational ties. It was noted that the agreement on the mutual allocation of annual education quotas between the sides creates additional opportunities for students.
The heads of government discussed issues related to further deepening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan across all areas and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
