President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has expressed his gratitude to the US President Donald Trump in a post on the X platform for sharing his speech at the Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.
The post reads: "I would like to express my gratitude to President Donald Trump for sharing my remarks on his social media platform regarding the U.S.-Azerbaijan partnership and his commitment to a peace agenda - both globally and in our region - which I conveyed at the Shusha Global Media Forum.
Once again, I wish to underscore our support for President Trump’s vision and efforts to promote peace and stability around the world, including in our region. We also share common values, such as the importance of family traditions, and remain hopeful that U.S.-Azerbaijan relations will reach a new level during his Presidency.
We wish him continued success in all his endeavors toward this goal."
Note that Donald Trump has shared the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev from the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum. The U.S. leader made the post on his official Truth Social account. The post includes a video clip featuring President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks about Donald Trump.
The Azerbaijani President said at the forum: "I did not predict Trump's victory. I simply said that it would be preferable for the Azerbaijani people, given that he, like us, shares fundamental values, including family values. He is the only US president who has not started wars. And in his short time in office, it is clear that he is a man who ends wars. And we are also very grateful to him personally for his desire to help Azerbaijan and Armenia to come to an agreement in the end. Despite the fact that he is busy with more global issues of international security, he also keeps the situation in the South Caucasus in his field of view. We in Azerbaijan, of course, are glad that he won, for many reasons, and, of course, we wish him to see the matter through to the end, especially with regard to the “Washington swamp”, to drain it completely."
