“A very strong partnership has been established between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in recent years,” President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in a joint press statement with President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini in Shusha, APA reports.
The head of state noted that traditional areas dominated the discussions:
“Trade and economic relations, cooperation in the energy and military-technical fields, as well as other areas, are among our priorities. Very sincere and open discussions were held on all these issues. Members of the delegations also remain in constant contact.”
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that both sides support concrete action:
“Both sides attach great importance to these relations. I can say that a very strong partnership has been established in recent years. I should also note that this is not Peter Pellegrini’s first visit to Azerbaijan. Among Slovakia’s senior officials, he is the first person to have visited Azerbaijan in his previous capacities as Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister, as well as now as President. He participated in COP29 and is in Azerbaijan today on an official visit.”
