Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Central Africans Abroad of the Central African Republic, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, APA reports.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov shared information about the meeting on his X account.
He said that during the meeting, the prospects for developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Central African Republic were discussed.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan attaches strategic importance to strengthening relations with African countries. The meeting reviewed opportunities to expand cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, educational and scientific fields.
The sides also discussed issues of cooperation within the UN, the African Union and other multilateral platforms.
Jeyhun Bayramov stated that students from the Central African Republic have benefited from educational scholarship programs established by Azerbaijan for citizens of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.
