Azerbaijani FM briefs US business representatives on Azerbaijan-US partnership-PHOTO

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed an Executive Roundtable with key corporate executives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and representatives of leading U.S. companies in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry said, APA reports.

The discussions focused on Azerbaijan’s geostrategic importance, the Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership that has taken shape following the 2025 Washington summit, and prospects for further developing bilateral relations in key areas.

Bayramov briefed the participants on Azerbaijan’s foreign policy priorities, the steps taken by the country since restoring its independence, and the main pillars of the Azerbaijan-US strategic partnership.

The minister emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation in the economy, energy, trade, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and connectivity. He also discussed regional developments and the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Bayramov highlighted steps toward regional normalization following the Washington Joint Declaration signed in August 2025 and the initialing of the Peace Agreement. He noted the importance of practical confidence-building measures, including the removal of transit restrictions and the launch of direct bilateral trade with Armenia.

The minister also stressed the role of the TRIPP initiative in ensuring unimpeded connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as strengthening regional connectivity, trade and economic integration.

He highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic role as a regional connectivity hub through the Middle Corridor and the Digital Silk Way.

Following the first US-Azerbaijan Economic Dialogue, joint working groups on trade, energy, artificial intelligence and connectivity were established. More than $8 billion in commercial commitments across over 10 agreements were secured within the framework of the dialogue.

Bayramov also highlighted major strategic achievements in the energy sector, including partnerships with U.S. companies.
