President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on the application of a new coordinate system in all types of geodesy, gravimetry, topography, cartography and cadastral works carried out in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, regardless of their purpose, APA reports.
According to the order, the WGS-84 (international coordinate system) based on UTM (map projection) is applied in all types of geodesy, gravimetry, topography, cartography and cadastral works carried out in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, regardless of their purpose.
The application of these coordinate systems will continue until the completion of geodesy, gravimetry, topography, cartography and cadastral works carried out on projects that have been started and are not completed with other geodesy coordinate systems.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve the issues arising from this Order.
