The Audiovisual Council and the Media Development Agency have issued a joint statement regarding the coverage of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijani media and on social media, APA reports.
The statement notes that during the two weeks of the COP29 event, news agencies, online, and print media outlets dedicated a significant portion of their content to the summit. Approximately 60% of the news produced on separate days was related to COP29. Between November 11 and 23, 2024, nearly 60,000 links were created in the media related to the event, with about 42,000 of them in Azerbaijani, more than 10,600 in Russian, and around 7,300 in English-language media outlets.
To make information related to the summit more accessible, a special COP29 section has been created on the websites of news agencies and online media outlets.
Given the significance of the historic decisions made and the outcomes of the summit, the national media continues to cover the topic even after the conclusion of COP29.
