"The speeches delivered during the congress raised serious challenges facing the media, as well as issues related to the impact of new technologies on journalism," Chairman of the Press Council Vugar Zifaroghlu told journalists, APA reports.

He stated that the new Board of Directors would respond to the upcoming challenges at a high level:

"I am confident that the new Board of Directors will respond to new challenges at the highest level. As always, the Azerbaijan Press Council will continue its activities aimed at developing journalism, and various interesting projects will be implemented."

The Chairman of the Press Council also stated that the number of complaints received by the organization has decreased compared to previous years.

"Looking at the period covering 2022–2026, a downward trend in the number of complaints can be observed. All complaints received by the Press Council will be investigated, and appropriate measures will be taken to resolve them. As a result of improving the professionalism of Azerbaijani journalists and creating favorable conditions for the activities of the Press Council, it is expected that the number of complaints will decrease further in the future and may even be completely eliminated," he noted.
