Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli-APA. Democratic Journalists’ League has publicized the results of the monitoring conducted on the state of freedom of speech and media within the framework of the project “Monitoring of media problems, legal and material assistance to journalists” the league told APA that the monitoring was conducted with financial support of Open Society Institute - Assistance Foundation. 37 facts were recorded during the monitoring in March. The report also includes the decision of Yasamal District Court sentencing editor-in-chief of “Azadlig” newspaper Ganimat Zahid to four-year imprisonment, knifing of “Azadlig” newspaper correspondent Agil Khalil by unknown men and hunger strike of founder and editor-in-chief of “Gundalik Azerbaijan” and “Realny Azerbaijan” newspapers Eynulla Fatullayev. The report notes that two media representatives were detained in the police office for an hour in March.
