Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan asylum-seeking correspondents apply to U.S. Embassy

The correspondents of suspended Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan newspapers, who are seeking asylum in foreign countries, visited the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan today, one of the journalists appealing for migration, editor of Gundalik Azerbaijan newspaper Uzeyir Jafarov told the APA.
He said they showed their decisive position regarding migration in their appeal on the recommendation of the Embassy consul Vlad Lipshit.
Khalid Kazimli, Uzeyir Jafarov, Aynur Elgunesh, Kamran Kamaloglu, Salim Azizoglu, Nemat Huseynli, Natig Javadli, Huseynbala Salimov and correspondent of Yuksalish namine newspaper Elchin Hasanov among the representatives of the above-said media outlets, who presented application and their proper documents to the Embassy.
Jafarov said that the other journalists who are seeking asylum abroad will appeal to the Embassy within two days. The US Embassy is expected to respond to the appeals till the end of the week.
The U.S. Embassy Council Vlad Lipshit offered the asylum-seeking journalists to appeal to the embassy individually.
The corresponds of Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan newspapers and some other media outlets stating impossibility of living and working in Azerbaijan wanted asylum abroad. Two unmade European countries positively replied to the asylum-seeking journalists, but the United Kingdom rejected their appeal officially. /APA/
